The SPEAC School Model
Schoolwide Enrichment: We believe that all students are gifted, and will differentiate instruction to accommodate differences in abilities and learning styles.
Interest-driven learning: We will create learning opportunities for students to engage with their interests through the use of critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Talent Portfolios: We will use traditional and performance-based assessment to compile information about students' progress, focusing on strengths rather than deficits.
Advisories: Students will meet with an advisory class daily to explore issues relating to their lives, the school community, and wellness.
Dual-Language instruction: This optional program will be open to students who are becoming bilingual English/Spanish speakers.
Service Learning: Students will be required to conduct community service hours, and to reflect on their experiences in writing.
Extended Day: We will provide after-school instruction for students who need extra assistance in math and literacy.
